Who
are we? The
Callaway County Humane Society (CCHS) is a group of
Callaway County residents committed to providing the education and
resources necessary to ensure the humane care and treatment of all animals
in the county.
Our board of directors and
members are all volunteers living in Callaway County. What
are we? The
Callaway County Humane Society is a Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation.
When
did we start? In
1996, a meeting of animal lovers was held in Fulton, Missouri at which it
was resolved that an organization be formed devoted exclusively to the
well being of pets and strays throughout the county.
It was also determined that this organization would be called the
Callaway County Humane Society.
Since its founding in 1996, CCHS has raised
over $20,000 and purchased land on which the organization plans to build a
facility large enough to address the needs of the entire county. What
are our short and long-term goals? At
this time, the CCHS is an organization of members.
Our short term goals include building community awareness about the
value of spaying and neutering pets, providing educational resources for
the community and raising funds to subsidize county-wide spay and neuter
programs.
Our long-term goal is to build an animal shelter that will serve
the entire county. Why
do we do it? While Callaway County has many conscientious and loving pet owners, we also have a significant number of abandoned, abused and stray animals. We believe additional education and a comprehensive, countywide facility will make a significant difference in the quality of life for our residents and the animals in our county. How
can you get involved? Are
you interested in becoming a member of the
CCHS?
The CCHS welcomes your participation and
support.
We need your time, talent and passion.
We have a solid organizational and financial base from which to
work, now we need to spread the word about the value of a local humane
society.
You can make the difference.
